Kevin Kelleher, M.Ed., began his police career providing police, fire and ambulance services on northern Minnesota’s Iron Range. He later joined the Bloomington, Minnesota, Police Department and served in a variety of capacities, including patrol, SWAT, detective, patrol sergeant, K-9 supervisor, Deputy Director of Emergency Management, and ran the Office of Training and Development. Field Training Solutions has developed a unique approach to FTO training. Sure, we’ve had years of on-the-ground law enforcement experience, but we’re also educators, with a deeper understanding about how trainees learn—and the obstacles that can get in the way of that learning. Kevin Kelleher, who already had a successful law enforcement career, decided to return to school to get his M.Ed. in order to establish a new, more effective style of FTO training.
